We're looking for a strong, client-facing Senior Developer based anywhere in the US who works well participating on 100% distributed teams.

You'll work closely with other developers to architect, build, and support various solutions for clients and our agency partners. As a lead developer on the team, part of your responsibility will be to ensure best practices are being followed from an architectural and development perspective.

[A] Team Benefits

Being an [A]gent comes with its benefits. Work from anywhere. Advance your career on the leading-edge of the content and technology sciences. Earn a competitive salary, an infrastructure and office stipend, bonuses and for longtime [A]gents, participation in a profit-sharing plan. But many [A]gents find the best part of working as an [A]gent are the other [A]gents you work with and the culture at [A].

We take care of each other and we honor each other's work and contributions to the team. We work to make ourselves better and our [A] team better. We make efforts to adapt new technologies and methodologies that can help us optimize our time, and we expect you to collaborate on these efforts if you’re an expert on any of those fields. We communicate and reach out to other [A] players.  We love learning. We love teaching. We write. We code. We support each other. For the right people, working at [A] feels like coming home.

What is [A]?

At its simplest, [A] is a distributed technology consulting company in the United States that focuses on content engineering and content management systems integration. We simplify complex technology for agencies and institutional clients. We focus content engineering and content technology, but our [A]gents are multi-talented and get called upon to deliver consulting, application development, architecture and strategy.

[A] is a team of intelligent [A]gents made up of smart people with many roles and no titles. We are content engineers, analysts, programmers, developers, architects, content strategists, strategic consultants, data scientists, producers, marketers, writers and communicators.

What’s Your Name, Again?

Our name is easy. Just say “A.” The [A] brackets represent markup, microdata, content intelligence. The letter “[A]” represents the start, initiation, beginning of change. We are going to help change the world with intelligent content.

[A] is fully distributed across seven time zones, and requires all [A]gents to be available for meetings and collaboration between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM Central time. Does this work for you?*
Reading the description, why do you think you may be a good fit for this role?*
What are your compensation expectations for this role? (Please be specific in USD yearly salary).*
At [A] we have a deep commitment to diversity. It reflects in that [A]gents have a wide variety of ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, physical geographies, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, gender identities, political associations, physical abilities, and all manner of ways of thinking about the world, the universe, and our role in it.

However, there's a lot of ways in which we're the same. We're all learners and teachers, all committed to growth for ourselves, each other and [A] as a whole. Many of us are introverts at some level, and we're all comfortable working from home offices. All at [A] are smart people with good hearts, and better in our diversity.

If you join us at [A], do you agree to embrace our diversity statement?*
This role utilizes a paid traction project as the final step of the interview process.

[A] utilizes such test, or traction, projects to not only assess skills, but more importantly to assess if there is a mutual cultural fit. This also gives you insight into [A] “behind the scenes” and helps you determine if [A] is the right place for you. Traction projects are also an excellent time to onboard with [A] tools, and learn key concepts that may be new, to see if the systems and the content at [A] all fits your style.

[A] customizes each test project to the individual candidate as well as to client and internal needs at [A]. The work you will be doing on the test project will produce important and valuable deliverables and contains areas that may be involved in your [A] position. As mentioned, this is a paid project meant to be completed in your "free" time.

If you progress through our process, would you be willing to participate in a traction project?*
